Apple asked its supply chain to raise MacBook Neo production to 16 million units in 2027, about double the volume forecast for the current year.
The company plans to issue parts orders to reach the 16 million-unit target, according to supply-chain sources.
The first MacBook Neo launched in Esfand last year with an A18 Pro chip and 8 GB of RAM. The model debuted at $599 before Cupertino raised the base price to $699 in Khordad, alongside other Mac price adjustments.

John Ternus, Apple's chief executive, said, "In fiscal 2026 we sold more Mac laptops and Mac computers than in any prior year."
Apple does not disclose sales by model, but reports attribute the companys record Mac sales in part to the MacBook Neo.
Reports say a second-generation MacBook Neo is likely to arrive in the first half of 2027 with an A19 Pro chip and 12 GB of RAM.
