Samsung will release its first AI-powered smart glasses, branded Intelligent Eyewear, in mid-December 2026 (Azar and Dey), with initial sales limited to South Korea and the United States. The company says other markets, including China, Europe, and Japan, are planned for 2027. This move comes more than a year after Samsung first announced intentions to enter the market for augmented reality wearables.
Specifications, design partners, and availability
Samsung has not fixed a retail price; the final figure remains under negotiation. The company confirmed that frames will be offered in multiple colors, shapes, and styles through partnerships with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

The hardware centers on a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset and runs Android XR with deep integration of Gemini AI. The glasses include a 12-megapixel front camera, stereo speakers, and multiple microphones. Samsung says the internal battery will last up to nine hours on a single charge, and the carrying case provides additional recharges for users.
Samsung's statements in this announcement are the source for the schedule, design collaborations, platform and chipset choices, camera and audio specifications, battery life, and initial market rollout. The company did not provide concrete pricing or broader availability dates beyond the 2027 window for other regions.
