After months of teases following an initial announcement in September, Motorola has made the Signature 27 fully official and lifted the curtain on two headline specs: a 7,000 mAh battery and a dedicated action sensor. The company also reiterated earlier confirmations of Bang & Olufsen-tuned audio and the phone's place as the successor to the original Signature.
The 7,000 mAh capacity is 35 percent larger than the predecessor's battery, Motorola says. The new handset centers on a 6.78-inch 1.5K "Extreme AMOLED Duo" display that uses a tandem panel with two emissive layers, runs at a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a quoted 12,000 nits peak brightness at a 1 percent average pixel level. Motorola claims the panel is up to 34 percent more energy efficient and will last up to 121 percent longer than the original Signature's regular AMOLED.

Under the hood sits Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 paired with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. Cooling is handled by what Motorola calls ArcticMesh, combining a thermal gel infused with micro-diamonds and an 8,384 mm² vapor chamber that the company says is 40 percent larger than the previous model's.

Cameras, action sensor and recording
The rear camera array includes a 50MP main module using Sony's Lytia 910 sensor, LOFIC technology, an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization; a 200MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x "Super Zoom Pro"; and a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus and a 122-degree field of view. Motorola says the Signature 27 also debuts the first dedicated EVS, or Event Vision Sensor, on a smartphone. The EVS detects pixel-level changes in light intensity separately from the main cameras and works with an Action Shot feature to help freeze fast-moving subjects.

Video capabilities include 8K recording at 30 frames per second and 4K at up to 120 frames per second with Dolby Vision on the rear cameras. The 50MP front-facing camera offers autofocus and 4K recording.

The phone's silicon-carbon battery supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, plus 5W reverse wireless and 4.5W reverse wired charging.
Physically, the Signature 27 measures 162.01 by 77.04 by 7.99 millimetres and weighs 227 grams, noticeably thicker and heavier than the original Signature's 7mm, 186g profile. It uses an aluminium frame with a ceramic and glass build finished in Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, and carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water ratings along with MIL-STD-810H compliance.

Other features include stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, a six-antenna design with Wi-Fi 8 support, and Android 17 with a promised seven major OS updates. Motorola says the handset is ready for Google's Gemini Intelligence features as they roll out and ships with Motorola's Qira assistant.

The Signature 27 will be available from November 16 in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in two finishes: Pantone Coal Smoke, which features a tactical weave finish, and Pantone Capulet Olive, which has a textile-inspired look. The recommended retail price is $1,599 or €1,899, though Motorola notes some retailers and partners in select countries will offer it for €1,399.
