Telegram 12.0 rolls out music profiles, redesigned Android UI, upgraded gift mechanics and sticker tools
Telegram’s newest release for Android and iOS brings several feature upgrades aimed at personalization, social gifting and creator tools. The update introduces the ability to pin music to profiles, a fresh Android profile layout with smoother scrolling, gift-based chat themes, tools to upgrade friends’ gifts, resale-value insights in the Gift Marketplace, and a new Stickers Mini App for creating and tracking artwork.

Add music to profiles
Users can now attach songs directly from chat media to their Telegram profile. Tracks appear beneath the profile photo and automatically build a continuous playlist with previously added songs. To add a track, tap Add to Profile in the media player or choose Save to > Profile from the message menu. This makes profiles more expressive and helps contacts discover a user’s musical tastes.
Android profile redesign
Android profiles receive a visual overhaul with a cleaner layout and fluid scrolling animations that align the experience with the iOS version. The UI tweak improves navigation through saved stories and gift collections and emphasizes media and profile content.
Default profile tab
Users can now set which tab appears first—Saved Stories or Gift Collections—when others open their profile. In Settings > My Profile, long-press a tab and choose Set as Main Tab to customize what visitors see first.
Gift-based chat themes and upgrades
Collectible gifts unlock custom chat themes that act as animated wallpapers in one-on-one chats. Supported gifts include Plush Pepes, Precious Peaches, Durov’s Caps and Heart Lockets. Telegram also makes it easier to upgrade gifts: Stars can be spent to help friends enhance gifts on their profile. The Upgradable filter highlights eligible items and the Upgrade Next Gift button facilitates consecutive upgrades, accompanied by a new upgrade animation.
Gift Marketplace: resale values and stats
The Gift Marketplace now shows an estimated resale price in a Value field. Users can expand the field to view additional metrics like average sale price for the same collection — useful for collectors and secondary market traders.
Stickers Mini App
A new Stickers Mini App allows creators to design, publish and manage sticker packs and emoji while viewing usage statistics. This extension expands Telegram’s ecosystem for custom artwork and community-driven content.
