Acer launches a refreshed Iconia lineup at IFA

Acer has expanded its Iconia tablet family with four new Android devices designed for media consumption, productivity and casual creativity. The Iconia X12 and X14 aim at users who prioritize display quality and portability, while the larger A14 and A16 target productivity and content viewing with built-in kickstands and larger screens. All four models ship with Android 15 and a set of AI-enhanced software features.

Display, design and core specs

The Iconia X12 stands out with a 12.6-inch AMOLED panel at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, stylus support and an optional keyboard case for light laptop-style workflows. The tablet includes a 13MP rear camera, quad speakers, an 8,000 mAh battery and MediaTek’s Helio G99 processor. Storage starts at 256GB paired with 8GB of RAM, and the X12 offers a microSD slot for expandable storage.

Large OLED panel and stronger wireless

The Iconia X14 features a 14-inch OLED screen (1,920 x 1,200), quad speakers and an 8,000 mAh battery. It runs on the Allwinner A733 chipset and ships with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Unlike the X12, the X14 adds Wi‑Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, plus a microSD card slot. Camera setup includes an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP front-facing camera.

Kickstand convenience and bigger canvases

Acer’s Iconia A14 and A16 use IPS LCD panels in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, respectively. Both tablets include integrated kickstands, quad speakers, 8,000 mAh batteries and 8GB/256GB base configurations. Running on the Allwinner A733, the A-series targets users who want larger, more affordable tablets for streaming, web conferencing and light productivity.

All four Iconia models boot Android 15 and include dedicated AI capabilities such as AI Super Resolution for video upscaling and AI Smart Sensing for gesture controls—features that improve media playback and hands-free interaction.

Connectivity, cameras and storage

Connectivity differs across the lineup: the X12 uses Wi‑Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2, the X14 upgrades to Wi‑Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, while the A-series follows the X14’s camera configuration (5MP front, 8MP rear). The inclusion of microSD on the X12 and X14 makes them more flexible for users needing extra storage for media and apps.

Comparisons, advantages and use cases

  • Best for creators: Iconia X12 — stylus support and AMOLED display make it a compact option for sketching and note-taking.
  • Best for multimedia: Iconia X14 — OLED panel and Wi‑Fi 6 deliver richer colors and smoother streaming.
  • Best for productivity and viewing: A14 and A16 — larger IPS displays and built-in kickstands suit video calls, presentations and split-screen multitasking.

All models share advantages such as long-lasting 8,000 mAh batteries, quad-speaker audio and the convenience of Android 15 with built-in AI enhancements. From classroom use and remote work to casual gaming and binge-watching, Acer’s Iconia refresh targets a broad range of consumer and prosumer needs.

Price and availability

The Iconia X12 starts at $320/€280 and the X14 at $350/€260; both will be available from November. The Iconia A14 is priced from $300/€260 and the A16 from $340/€300, with availability beginning January 2026.
