Linktour makes its European debut with personalised urban EVs

Linktour Automotive introduced its new L-Series city electric cars at IAA Mobility 2025, bringing two compact micro EVs purpose-built for dense urban environments. The L6e and L7e combine city-friendly packaging, a lightweight aluminum structure, and a novel customisation feature called the Art Window that lets owners personalise exterior graphics. These models aim to challenge existing urban electric offerings such as the Citroen Ami and the Fiat Topolino.

Design and customisation: the Art Window and compact packaging

Art Window digital canvas

Linktour is betting on personalisation. The brand's industry-first Art Window is a small exterior display panel that functions like a digital canvas: owners can upload artwork, logos, or bespoke graphics to make the car visually unique. The idea moves beyond paint and trim options and targets younger drivers, small-business owners, and buyers who want an expressive city car.

Exterior dimensions and interior space

Despite their compact footprints, both L-series cars prioritise usable cabin space. Linktour claims a class-leading 1800 mm wheelbase, which helps deliver a roomier interior than their exterior dimensions imply. The smaller L6e measures 2685 mm long, 1500 mm wide, and 1555 mm tall. The L7e shares the same footprint with modest height and ground clearance differences due to a larger battery pack.

Structure and safety: aluminium frame and CTB technology

A major engineering highlight is the all-aluminium frame. Using aluminium reduces curb weight, improves corrosion resistance, and boosts energy efficiency and real-world driving range. Linktour also employs Cell to Body (CTB) construction where the battery contributes to chassis stiffness. Integrating the battery lowers the centre of gravity for improved handling, stability, and crash performance, a meaningful advantage in the micro EV segment.

Interior technology and connectivity

The cabins lean into modern connectivity. Drivers get a 10.25-inch central touchscreen and a 5-inch smart instrument panel for essential data. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity are standard. A Linktour smartphone app enables remote functions such as battery status monitoring, remote locking, climate pre-conditioning, and vehicle location tracking.

Performance and drivetrain specifications

L6e Urban Sprite

The L6e is the entry-level model, driven by a compact 6 kW motor paired with a 7.2 kWh battery. Thanks to its low mass (maximum around 760 kg) and efficient packaging, the L6e is quoted to achieve up to 120 km per charge on its intended driving cycles. AC charging is limited to 2 kW, with a full 0-100% recharge taking approximately 4 hours.

L7e Urban Elite

For buyers wanting stronger performance, the L7e steps up to a 23 kW peak motor and 110 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-50 km/h is claimed at about 5.5 seconds. Its 12.96 kWh battery extends range to roughly 180 km on the WMTC cycle. The L7e features two driver modes: an efficient D mode and a sportier S mode, plus safety equipment such as ABS and EBD.

Market positioning and comparisons

Linktour positions the L-Series as fashionable, tech-forward city runabouts with competitive range and a focus on customisation. With compact dimensions and low running costs, these cars are pitched as second-family vehicles or first cars for younger buyers. If launched in Europe at competitive prices, the L6e and L7e could be credible alternatives to the Citroen Ami, Fiat Topolino and other micro EVs, offering a unique selling point in the Art Window and a stronger structural approach with an aluminium chassis and CTB design.

Colours, availability and final thoughts

Both models are available in four colours: Starlit Black, Rock Grey, Sprout Green, and Moon White. Linktour has not yet announced pricing or exact European launch dates. For city drivers seeking personalisation, lightweight construction, and efficient short-range mobility, the L-Series brings fresh options to the growing micro electric vehicle market.
