Garmin introduces the Bounce 2 with LTE and two-way calling

Garmin has launched the Bounce 2, an updated kids smartwatch that swaps the original model's square LCD for a circular 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen and adds LTE connectivity. The device is priced higher than its predecessor but brings several notable upgrades aimed at safety, media and everyday use.

Design, display and durability

The Bounce 2 features a round case and a brighter AMOLED display, rated to 5 ATM for water resistance. With the silicone strap attached it weighs 40.4 g, keeping it light enough for children while improving the visual and tactile experience compared with the earlier square design.

Connectivity and communication

Key new features focus on staying connected:

  • Two-way calling over LTE for direct voice calls
  • Voice messaging with automatic transcription
  • Built-in voice commands for quick interactions
  • Real-time location tracking for parental peace of mind

The watch also includes basic fitness tracking such as a step counter and multi-sport modes tailored to kids' activities.

Media, storage and battery

Bounce 2 supports downloadable music via the Amazon Music app and offers 4 GB of onboard storage for offline playback. Garmin estimates up to two days of battery life under typical usage, though actual endurance will vary depending on LTE use and media playback.

Price and availability

The new model comes in purple, turquoise and slate gray and carries a US price of $299.99. Compared with the original Bounce, the second-generation model targets users who want built-in LTE, better display quality and enhanced communication features in a kid-friendly package.
