HMD is reportedly readying a sequel to its modular Fusion phone, and early leaks suggest meaningful upgrades across display, performance and modular accessories. The Fusion 2 appears to keep the unique "Smart Outfits" ecosystem while improving core hardware for a smoother, more versatile experience.
Sharper screen and a smarter chipset
According to a leak shared by HMD Meme on X, the Fusion 2 is said to move up to a 6.58-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate — a clear jump from the original Fusion's 6.56-inch HD+ 90Hz panel. That bump should deliver smoother scrolling and better motion handling for games and video.
Under the hood, HMD is reportedly swapping the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. That change promises stronger everyday performance and improved efficiency, positioning the Fusion 2 as a more capable mid-range contender.
Cameras, connectivity and creature comforts
On the imaging front, HMD looks to be taking a practical approach: the Fusion 2 would retain a 108MP main sensor but replace a meager 2MP secondary lens with a far more useful 8MP ultra-wide camera. Expect better landscape and group shots as a result.

Other new or updated options could include a Casual Outfit with a kickstand, a Rugged Outfit for tougher environments and a Flashy Outfit for users who want aesthetic flair. These modular backs attach via two-way magnetic pins on the phone’s rear, letting you swap functionality quickly depending on what you need.
Community creativity: 3D printing and open tools
HMD originally opened things up with the Fusion Development Toolkit, allowing users to 3D print their own backs and accessories. The toolkit was well received by hobbyists and makers; the same open-source approach is expected to continue with the Fusion 2, enabling custom designs and third-party creativity.
