Honor has expanded its Magic8 lineup with the new Magic8 Lite, unveiled today as the budget-friendly successor to last year’s Magic7 Lite. The handset aims to stand out with an enormous battery and a bright OLED display, packing otherwise midrange hardware into a surprisingly well-specced package.
Big battery, bright screen, and a solid midrange heart
The Magic8 Lite runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 paired with 8GB of RAM and offers 256GB or 512GB storage options. Its headline feature is a huge 7,500 mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging — a rare capacity at this price tier. The phone also sports a 6.79-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1200 × 2640 resolution, 3,840Hz PWM dimming and a peak brightness of 6,000 nits, promising excellent visibility outdoors.

Camera hardware that punches above its weight
On paper, the camera setup is compelling for a “Lite” model: a 108MP main sensor backed by a 5MP ultrawide and a 16MP front-facing camera. That primary shooter should deliver plenty of detail in daylight — even if low-light performance will depend on software processing.
Durability and design notes
Honor hasn’t skimped on durability: the Magic8 Lite carries IP66, IP68 and even IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, and the company claims it can survive drops from up to 2.5 meters onto certain surfaces like marble. The phone measures 161.9 x 76.1 x 7.76 mm and weighs 189 g, and will be available in Forest Green, Midnight Black and Reddish Brown finishes.
- SoC: Snapdragon 6 Gen 4
- Memory: 8GB RAM; 256GB / 512GB storage
- Display: 6.79" OLED, 120Hz, 6,000-nit peak
- Cameras: 108MP main, 5MP ultrawide, 16MP selfie
- Battery: 7,500 mAh with 66W wired charging
- Durability: IP66 / IP68 / IP69K; drop resistance claims
- OS: Android 15 with MagicOS 9

One notable drawback: the phone ships with Android 15 layered under Honor’s MagicOS 9, even though Android 16 has been available for months. That could affect early adopters who expect the latest system-level features and security updates.
Honor hasn’t revealed pricing or availability yet, so final judgment will hinge on how the company positions the Magic8 Lite in each market. Still, with a standout battery and ultra-bright display, this model looks poised to attract buyers who prioritize endurance and screen quality over cutting-edge flagship silicon.
