Samsung's S27 Pro Could Mirror the S27 Ultra, Smaller

Two CAD renders landed online and the rumor mill lit up. One image is a touch smaller than the other. Tiny detail: the side buttons don't line up. That mismatch sent people down two paths — either Samsung is prepping two Ultra sizes, or there’s a distinct S27 Pro in the works.

Leaker Sonny Dickson was first with the renders, showing what appears to be a new back profile on Samsung's next phones. The rear camera grouping has been redesigned into a wide, flattened plateau rather than the familiar vertical stack. Some observers even compared it to the iPhone 17 Pro’s island. It’s a visual break, sure. But design shifts like this usually follow hardware needs, not fashion.

Which brings us to the guts. The current 3x telephoto module relies on a very small 10MP sensor — good enough, but cramped. Rumor has it Samsung might axe that lens. Why? Removing it could free space for a larger battery and open room for magnetic elements around a Qi2 coil, making charging and accessories more flexible. Bigger battery life without changing much of the outside. Neat trick, if true.

Camera upgrades are on the table too. The four-year-old ISOCELL HP2 main sensor has been due for retirement. Whispers point to a 200MP ISOCELL HPC replacing it, a sensor that could handle longer-range zoom internally and cut down reliance on multiple tiny modules. Imagine fewer gimmicky lenses and more versatile pixel-binning — better low-light shots and cleaner mid-range zoom. That’s the idea, at least.

Then Ice Universe stepped in to clarify: the smaller render is likely the Galaxy S27 Pro rather than a second Ultra size, and both the S27 Ultra and S27 Pro could share the new camera plateau. Translation: design language will be consistent, but Samsung might split the lineup by scale, not features.

All of this is based on CAD leaks and well-placed tips — interesting, but unofficial until Samsung lifts the veil.

Leaks like these give an early peek at what Samsung could bring in 2027: a tidier rear camera layout, shuffled internals for endurance and charging, and a potential rethink of zoom hardware.
