A recent leak expands on earlier reporting that Huawei is preparing a new sub-brand known in Chinese as Xingmang, which translates to Starlight. Tipster Digital Chat Station says the first handset under the brand will adopt a wide-screen candybar design and could arrive next month.
According to Digital Chat Station, the phone will use a 6.39-inch display, be powered by a Kirin 9000-series chipset and the top-end variant may offer up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Conflicting signals on positioning and platform
The DCS leak sits alongside an earlier report that described Starlight-branded phones as mid-range devices built on Kirin 8-series chips. That earlier report also said the handsets would run HarmonyOS and retain Huawei's XMAGE imaging technology, a contrast with the higher-end Kirin 9000-series suggestion in the most recent tip.
The accounts leave open whether Starlight will target premium buyers or sit in the mid-range segment. DCS additionally noted that Starlight is merely an English translation of the sub-brand's Chinese name and may not be used as its official name.
