Samsung is reportedly planning a second model in its wide Galaxy Z Fold lineup for next year, with tentative names Galaxy Z Fold9+ and Galaxy Z Fold9 FE, a Korean tipster citing a display supplier told local outlets.
The tipster said the move follows stronger-than-expected sales of the current wide Fold8, and that Samsung is testing two distinct directions: a larger-display Fold9+ or a same-size Fold9 FE with pared-down specifications. Only one of those variants is expected to reach market, and a decision is said to be coming soon.
Samsung introduced the wide-format Galaxy Z Fold8 in July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The company has not provided standalone sales figures for the wide Fold8; it said the Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra together sold 45% more in Europe in their first nine weeks than the Galaxy Z Fold7 did in the same launch window, without breaking that total down by individual model.

Reported options and retail details
The reported candidate models differ in display and specification strategy: the Fold9+ would increase inner-display size, while the Fold9 FE would retain the Fold8’s dimensions but reduce some specs. The tipster described the addition of a second wide model as a certainty, but did not provide component-level details beyond the display options.
Retail listings for the Galaxy Z Fold8 show a 256GB 12GB RAM configuration priced at €1,339.63 and £1,359.00, and a 512GB 12GB RAM option at €2,012.89 and £1,499.00.
