Sony has officially revealed the upcoming games joining the PlayStation Plus lineup for Summer 2025, promising an impressive selection for both veteran gamers and newcomers. This strategic update further establishes PlayStation Plus as a must-have subscription for anyone passionate about gaming and digital entertainment.
Summer 2025: A Blend of New Releases and Timeless Classics
Starting in June, PlayStation Plus subscribers can add NBA 2K25, the haunting thriller Alone in the Dark, and the energetic Bomb Rush Cyberfunk to their libraries at no additional cost. These free games cater to a broad audience, offering a mix of sports action, suspenseful storytelling, and creative gameplay.
Subscribers with Premium and Deluxe memberships will unlock even more gaming value. Classic adventure games Myst and Riven will become available, delivering beloved titles with rich narratives and challenging puzzles that have stood the test of time.
Major Additions: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Civilization VII
In an exciting move for fans of large-scale adventures, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Civilization VII will be free for PlayStation Plus members, continuing Sony’s commitment to offer genre-defining franchises.
Additionally, during the recent State of Play showcase, Sony introduced several new titles that will launch directly on PlayStation Plus, including the much-anticipated indie game Sword of the Sea from the creator of Abzu and Journey. Scheduled for release on August 18, Sword of the Sea will be accessible to Premium and Extra tier members from day one. Remedy’s latest three-player shooter, FBC: Firebreak, will also launch as a day-one title on June 16, expanding the platform’s multiplayer offerings.
Classics Return: Resident Evil 2 & 3 Join the Catalog
Classic gamers and horror enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as the original Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 join the Classic Catalog before summer’s end. These iconic survival horror games allow long-time fans and a new generation of players to experience the origins of the legendary franchise on PlayStation consoles.
Why This Matters: Value, Flexibility, and Market Edge
PlayStation Plus continues to enhance user experience by adding a diverse range of games across genres and generations. This approach not only appeals to different types of gamers but also keeps PlayStation competitive in the digital subscription landscape.
