Imagine a budget 5G phone that refuses to die before dinner. Lava is pushing that idea with the Shark 2, a follow-up to last March's Shark 4G and May's Shark 5G, and it's built around endurance more than bravado.
Under the hood sits a Unisoc T8200 chipset tuned for everyday 5G tasks, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage — and yes, you can tack on up to 1TB via microSD if you hoard photos and apps. The software angle is refreshingly plain: Android 16 out of the box, stripped of ads and heavy bloatware, plus a promise of one OS upgrade and two years of security patches.
The screen is a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD that refreshes at 120Hz. It has a small notch for a 5MP selfie camera and a crispness that favors smooth scrolling over pixel-packed detail. Photography is modest: a single 13MP rear camera handles the basics.

Battery life is the headline. A 6,000mAh cell powers the Shark 2 and should easily carry most users through two days of mixed use. The handset supports 18W charging technically, but the charger in the box is limited to 10W, so topping up will be slow unless you buy a faster adapter separately.
Practical touches are present: a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IP64 rating for splash resistance, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick unlocks. The phone ships in Sonar Gold and Arya Blue colorways, choices that look grown-up for a device at this price point.
The Lava Shark 2 arrives in India at INR 11,999 and goes on sale June 10 through offline retailers.
Lava is also offering a “Free Service @ Home” program to sweeten after-sales support — a nice move for buyers who don't want to wrestle with service center logistics. If you want a no-frills, battery-first 5G phone in that price bracket, Lava is making a compelling pitch.
