Amazfit Brings iPhone Notification Replies to Your Wrist

The doorbell rings and a photo pops onto your wrist. You glance down, tap to open the image, and send a short reply — all without pulling your phone from your pocket. That’s the little convenience Amazfit is promising with its new iOS Notification Forwarding beta, and it suddenly makes the smartwatch feel a lot more useful.

There’s a catch: for now the program is limited to users inside the European Union. Why the region lock? Regulatory and compatibility checks, according to Amazfit, plus a staged rollout to iron out quirks before a wider release. Still, if you live in the EU this is worth watching closely.

The feature goes beyond simple push alerts. Supported apps can show full messages, image previews and interactive controls so you can reply, send a quick response, or mark conversations as read from the watch itself. WhatsApp is named among the compatible apps, and Amazfit demonstrates use cases like receiving a snapshot from a doorbell camera directly on your wrist.

Amazfit has opened the beta to a handful of current models first: Cheetah 2 Ultra, Balance Ultra and Balance 3. A wider list — including Bip Max, Active 3 Premium, Cheetah 2 Pro, T-Rex 3, 3 Pro, Ultra 2 and Balance 2 — will join the program in the coming weeks and months as the company vets stability across hardware variants.

The beta starts June 30, and the Zepp App will receive staged updates via the iOS App Store. Participation isn’t automatic: you need a device running iOS 26.5 or later. Once the Zepp App updates, it should prompt you to enable the new notification forwarding. If you prefer to activate it manually, navigate to Devices > Notifications > App Notifications in the Zepp App to flip the switch.

If you’re on iOS 26.5 or later and in the EU, you can opt into the beta to get full message views, quick replies and image previews on supported Amazfit watches.

From a user perspective, this is a small shift with outsized impact: fewer interruptions, faster triage of messages, and an extra measure of privacy when you can view or dismiss notifications without unlocking a phone. From a technical perspective, the challenge is integrating iOS permission models and app-specific behaviors while keeping battery and performance predictable across models.

Expect incremental updates and broader availability in short order if the beta goes smoothly. For now, EU owners of eligible Amazfit watches should check the App Store tomorrow and watch for the Zepp App prompt — your wrist might just become a lot smarter, quietly and quickly.
