Samsung Confirms Galaxy Watch9, Watch Ultra2 and Able

Samsung just let the cat out of the bag: the names Galaxy Watch9, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Able have shown up in official app code ahead of the company’s July 22 Unpacked event in London. Short and to the point. Names matter.

Galaxy Able sounds different. It was widely expected to arrive as "Buds Able," but Samsung dropped the "Buds" and left us with a minimalist label — and a bolder idea. The latest app strings point to a clip-on audio device that uses bone conduction rather than traditional speaker drivers. In other words, sound delivered through vibrations on the cheekbone instead of pumping air into the ear canal. Think lightweight, situational listening and better awareness of your surroundings.

The two watches, meanwhile, look like evolution rather than revolution. The Watch9 is rumored to keep a design close to its predecessor and may continue with the Exynos W1000 chipset. The Watch Ultra2 is being tipped to step up to Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear Elite SoC. If those rumors hold, you can expect a performance and efficiency uplift on the Ultra2, and Samsung is apparently aiming high on display tech too: reports mention an OLED panel capable of a striking 5,000-nit peak brightness. That’s daylight-legible territory.

All of this emerged from the Galaxy Wearable app’s code in its latest build, where device names and identifiers are often planted ahead of product launches. Leaks aren’t confirmations, of course, but app-level mentions are a strong signal that Samsung is lining up these products for an imminent reveal.
