Kia unveils PV7 PBV minivan with 800V charging, Cargo

Kia announced the all-electric PV7 minivan at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, offering Cargo and Passenger variants built on the PBV-dedicated E-GMP.S architecture with 800-volt charging capabilities.

The PV7 uses a flat-floor layout and a Flexible Body System to increase usable volume and enable a wide range of body styles, derivatives and conversions for commercial and passenger applications.

Kia will offer two factory variants: PV7 Cargo targeted at freight applications and PV7 Passenger with flexible seating and long-distance comfort. Passenger layouts include seven- and nine-seat configurations.

Powertrain options use nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery packs of 71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh. Depending on market and configuration the PV7 delivers up to 200 kW and 420 Nm to the front wheels, equivalent to about 268 hp and 310 lb-ft. Kia says an all-wheel-drive model will follow at a later date.

The Long Range Cargo specification achieves up to 460 km (286 miles) on the WLTP cycle, according to Kia.

The PV7 supports ultra-fast 800-volt charging; Kia quotes roughly 25 minutes for 10 to 80 percent state of charge at charging powers up to 350 kW. For the first time on a Kia model, the PV7 can be specified with dual charging ports: a front AC/DC port and an optional rear-side AC port.

Maximum payload in the Cargo model is up to 1,200 kg (2,646 lb). Interior connectivity is provided by Pleos Connect, based on Android Automotive OS with Gleo AI.

Kia is selling the PV7 in South Korea and Europe next year, with additional markets to follow; an Australian specification has been confirmed for the fourth quarter of 2027.
