Chevy Raises 2027 Silverado EV Prices, Drops Two Trims

Chevrolet will raise pricing slightly for the 2027 Silverado EV lineup and eliminate two trim grades, according to an order guide obtained by CarsDirect and reported by Mircea Panait on 15 September 2026. The zero-emission full-size pickup will be $200 to $400 more across the range, with the base 4WT indexed at $53,200 before destination charge.

The order guide lists the 5WT and 8WT at $66,600 and $74,600, respectively, sans freight, each about $400 higher than before. At the top end, the 3TR is shown at $86,800. The 2LT and 3LT are set to retail at $61,100 and $69,300, while the 2TR remains at $70,200. Overall, seven distinct versions are listed for 2027, with the Work Truck, LT and Trail Boss families forming the core of the range: three Work Truck variants, two LT variants and two Trail Boss variants.

Two grades will be removed for 2027. The 4LT is discontinued; that configuration previously paired the LT specification with the Max Range battery, Super Cruise (GM's hands-free highway driver-assist system), upgraded safety equipment, 22-inch wheels, a 12,500-pound maximum towing capacity, dual-zone climate control, the Multi-Flex Tailgate, ambient interior lighting and power-adjustable front seats. Also gone is the RST Stars and Stripes edition, which added flag-inspired graphics, exclusive paint and interior combinations and 24-inch black glossy wheels over the RST.

Charging change and market context

General Motors says all 2027 model year battery-electric vehicles will switch to NACS charging ports, removing the need for an adapter to use the Tesla Supercharger network.

Chevrolet continues to position the Silverado EV as the least expensive zero-emission full-size pickup in the United States, but availability remains uneven. The entry-level 4WT is frequently hard for retail shoppers to find because dealers rarely stock these no-frills configurations, so the headline price does not always reflect the practical buying experience.

The timing of these incremental updates comes amid broader market shifts. Ford is moving the F-150 Lightning to a next-generation extended-range electric architecture, and Ford has not confirmed a launch date for the Ram 1500 REV competitor. General Motors is retaining the battery-electric Silverado despite weak demand in the first half of 2026: the companys Q2 2026 sales report shows Chevy dealers delivered 3,672 Silverado EVs nationwide, versus 3,044 units of the technically similar GMC Sierra EV.

According to the CarsDirect order guide and GM disclosures, the narrowly focused changes for 2027 reflect that limited demand. Keeping price increases modest while adjusting available trims also signals that General Motors is pursuing a multi-energy product mix in the mid-term future, offering multiple powertrain choices as it manages market uncertainty.
