Lincoln CX810 CGI Teases China SUV with PHEV Powertrain

The China-only Lincoln project codenamed CX810 is widely reported to be aimed at the new-energy market with either a range-extended (EREV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, and has this week been visualized in a full CGI reveal by virtual artist Sugar Chow, known online as "sugardesign_1".

Lincoln is developing the CX810 with Changan for the Chinese market; the model is expected to sit between the Aviator and the Navigator and to offer a six-seat layout.

The CX810 is being developed within the Changan Ford joint venture specifically for China, where Lincoln already sells a China-only sedan called the Lincoln Z (previously marketed as the Zephyr). Sources and the rumor mill place the CX810 between the Aviator and the full-size Navigator in Lincoln's local lineup and suggest a late 2026 or early 2027 public reveal. Numerous spy photos show a large, crossover-shaped test mule undergoing local testing, but the powertrain and final production details remain unconfirmed by Lincoln.

What the CGI shows

Sugar Chow's unofficial render strips away the black-and-white camouflage seen on the test mules and presents a squared, upright CUV with a long hood and bold LED motifs across the front bumper and grille. The CGI highlights a tall, boxy profile intended to maximize interior space, concave aero-style wheels, a large liftgate for cargo access, and dual-sided LED taillights at the rear. The artist labeled the work as a conceptual take on the CX810 project rather than an official preview.

Lincoln's North American range remains compact and crossover-focused: the Corsair compact crossover introduced for the 2020 model year with refreshes in 2023 and 2027; the Nautilus mid-size two-row CUV launched in 2019 and updated in 2024 with a 2027 mid-cycle refresh; the Aviator mid-size three-row model that entered its second generation in 2020 and was refreshed for 2026; and the Navigator, a full-size body-on-frame SUV now in its fifth generation as of 2025.

While the CGI provides an early look at possible exterior treatments, Lincoln has not released official images or confirmed the CX810's final powertrain. Observers watching the China market will be looking for an official announcement or further spy images as testing continues toward the anticipated 2026–2027 reveal window.
