2027 Honda Passport and TrailSport: US pricing, EPA

The updated 2027 Honda Passport is arriving at U.S. dealerships with modest mechanical and styling changes, but American Honda has confirmed higher starting prices and new EPA fuel-economy ratings for the model year.

Most of the mechanical attention went to the TrailSport variants, which receive a lifted suspension and other off-road-focused revisions. Honda quotes 9.65 inches of ground clearance for the TrailSport; ground clearance is the vertical distance between the road surface and the vehicle's lowest point. Honda also said that figure exceeds what it lists for the Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road, Subaru Outback Wilderness and Ford Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch. The refresh adds some technology updates, minor styling tweaks and a new color, Smoke Blue Pearl, carried over from the 2026 Pilot. All 2027 Passport models continue to use the 3.5-liter V6 engine assembled at Honda's plant in Lincoln, Alabama.

American Honda has rolled out a multi-channel brand campaign called "Base to Captain" that places the refreshed Passport TrailSport at the center of an off-road family-themed spot. The manufacturer attributes the campaign to promoting the new TrailSport refinements.

Pricing, trims and EPA ratings

American Honda confirmed that 2027 Passport pricing rises across the range. For context, the 2026 Passport offered seven configurations and started at $44,950 for the RTL trim before destination, with the cheapest TrailSport beginning at $48,650. The 2026 RTL Blackout listed at $45,650 and the top TrailSport Elite Blackout at $53,850. The 2026 destination charge was $1,595.

For 2027 the lineup is simplified to six variations and carries higher MSRPs. Honda lists the 2027 Passport RTL from $45,195 plus destination, RTL Towing from $45,895, TrailSport starting from $49,995, TrailSport Blackout from $51,495, plus TrailSport Elite and Elite Blackout at $53,695 and $55,195 respectively.

EPA fuel-economy ratings are also posted. RTL models are rated at 19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined. All TrailSport models are rated at 18 mpg city, 22 mpg highway and 20 mpg combined. Those figures are the manufacturer-reported EPA city/highway/combined numbers.
