Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Buds On in South Korea on October 1, 2026, a day after leaked images of the company’s first clip-on earphones circulated online. Samsung presents the design as a clip type intended for extended wear, including outdoor activities such as running, and as an open design that keeps users aware of their surroundings.

Design, controls and battery
The Galaxy Buds On use a clip-on form factor and support touch controls for music playback and calls, with sensors positioned at the back of each bud. Samsung says the earbuds are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 chipset paired with a Class D amplifier. According to Samsung, that hardware combination provides up to 9.5 hours of continuous use on a single charge.
The earphones include three microphones and a bone conduction-based vibration sensor that detects when the wearer is speaking; Samsung says this helps reduce background noise during calls by distinguishing voice vibrations from ambient sound.

Samsung has also built gesture and assistant features into the Buds On. Head Gestures let users answer or end calls, check notifications, cancel alarms, and perform other actions using head movements. When connected to a Galaxy smartphone or tablet with Galaxy AI, users can invoke the assistant and perform various actions; the earphones can also be used with Gemini Live, per Samsung.
The Galaxy Buds On are priced at KRW 299,999 (listed as $220) and will be available in South Korea from October 27, with Samsung saying the earphones will roll out to other regions in phases.
