Apple Home Hub’s Photo Face Mode Mirrors iPhone Duo StandBy

Leaked images show Apple’s Home Hub will include a Photo Face mode similar to the iPhone Duo StandBy.

The screenshots indicate users can choose among several display views; one option named Photo Face displays the user’s photos and resembles the iPhone Duo StandBy.

A leaker published a setup image showing users can select collections, Memories or shared albums to display.

Images are fetched from iCloud and the feature requires iCloud Photos to be enabled.

According to pdfu, the same photo view will be used on the iPhone Duo, which may explain why Apple has not enabled the StandBy interface in Xcode’s simulator.

This is the first known image of the Home Hub user interface. Rumors describe a 6-inch square display and a design like an iPad mounted on a metal hemisphere base similar to the iMac G4.

The Home Hub will likely not offer a full App Store but will support apps and widgets such as Calendar, Weather, Music, Messages and Reminders.

The device can reportedly recognize different household members and display different content for each user.

Bloomberg previously reported that the Home Hub interface places heavy emphasis on the clock and photo slideshows, making photo display a likely core feature.
