NFT sales tick up amid mixed activity
NFT sales climbed 24.57% over the trailing seven days, reaching $47,138,650 on CryptoSlam’s rolling dashboard. The week brought a striking divergence in on-chain metrics: buyer addresses surged while transaction counts declined, and Ethereum retained its position as the top NFT marketplace by value even as Bitcoin recorded a sharp uptick driven by high-ticket BRC-20 inscriptions.
Key weekly shifts included a 252.23% increase in buyer addresses to 107,061 and a 32.35% decline in total transactions to 507,562. Seller addresses also rose, up 192.38% to 89,117. It’s important to note that buyer and seller figures are wallet addresses, which do not necessarily correspond to unique individuals.
Snapshot and context
According to CryptoSlam data captured on Oct. 17, the current seven-day total of $47.14 million represented roughly a $9.30 million lift compared with the previous rolling period (roughly $37.84 million based on the tracker’s rounded growth rate). That rolling comparison differs slightly from a one-week snapshot published earlier that recorded $39.85 million in weekly sales and a higher transaction total of 778,055.
CoinGecko’s spot checks on Oct. 17 placed Bitcoin near $81,523 and Ethereum around $2,429, with total crypto market capitalization close to $2.84 trillion (down about 0.87% over 24 hours). Those spot market prices use a different timeframe than the seven-day NFT totals, though they help frame trading sentiment across crypto markets.
Blockchain breakdown: Ethereum leads, Bitcoin posts big gain
CryptoSlam ranked Ethereum first with $19,590,513 in seven-day NFT sales, an 18.48% increase week-over-week. Ethereum accounted for about 41.6% of global NFT value during the capture period. The tracker also identified $1.61 million in wash-trading volume on Ethereum, flagged separately from genuine sales totals.

Ethereum led seven-day blockchain NFT sales with $19.59 million
Polygon claimed second place with $8,377,559 in sales (down 1.99%) and 27,419 buyer addresses, a 172.77% increase. Notably, CryptoSlam flagged a large $18.72 million in wash volume on Polygon, tracked separately from Polygon’s sales figure.
Bitcoin posted a dramatic rise, up 132.05% to $8,252,706 in weekly NFT sales, placing it third by value. Buyer addresses on Bitcoin rose 269.59% to 4,594. The surge was heavily influenced by a single $2.97 million inscription in the $8888 BRC-20 category that accounted for roughly 36% of the network’s weekly volume. Bitcoin’s separately tracked wash volume was $86,406.
BNB Chain climbed to fourth with $4,100,527 (up 116.91%) and 4,857 buyer addresses. Immutable ranked fifth at $2,546,683 (down 5.19%) with buyer addresses rising to 2,774. Base completed the top six with $1,883,050 in sales (down 7.33%) and 1,185 buyer addresses; CryptoSlam separately flagged $4.80 million in Base wash volume.
Combined, the six leading networks generated about $44.75 million, or 94.9% of global weekly NFT sales.
Top collections: Courtyard leads, BRC-20 categories spike
CryptoSlam placed Polygon-based Courtyard atop weekly collection rankings with $7,682,847 in sales across 133,157 transactions. Courtyard recorded 18,131 buyer addresses (down 13.99%) and 15,380 seller addresses (down 3.88%).

Courtyard led seven-day NFT collection sales with $7.68 million.
The $8888 BRC-20 category ranked second with $2,968,838, a dramatic 807.52% increase—entirely driven by a single transaction (one buyer and one seller). This highlights how single high-value inscriptions on Bitcoin can disproportionately influence weekly totals.
Ethereum collections also showed strength: Argonauts reached $2,750,332 (up 104.70%) across 994 transactions, with buyer and seller counts both rising. Pudgy Penguins posted $2,564,945 (up 77.03%) from 407 transactions; anecdotal coverage noted a significant collector purchase of 117 Pudgy Penguins during the prior weekend, though that buyer’s count is tracked separately from wallet address-based metrics.
Other notable collections included Bitcoin’s $ATMC BRC-20 at $1,426,998 (up 156.87%) and Immutable’s Guild of Guardians Heroes at $1,411,807 (up 4.92%). CryptoPunks fell to seventh with $1,336,908, a 45.49% decline in weekly value.
High-value transactions: Bitcoin dominates top sales list
CryptoSlam’s list of largest individual NFT sales was led by Bitcoin inscriptions. The top sale was the $8888 BRC-20 inscription (asset prefix 85760015743bc7e) that sold for $2,968,838.11 (36.3755 BTC). Two additional X@AI BRC-20 inscriptions also made the top five, selling for $638,447.76 (7.6924 BTC) and $514,872.50 (6.3536 BTC), respectively. These high-BTC sales underscore renewed appetite for on-chain Bitcoin inscriptions and BRC-20 activity.

$8888 BRC-20 led seven-day individual NFT sales with a $2.97 million transaction.
On Ethereum, the top non-Bitcoin entry was a Uniswap V3 Positions NFT-V1 #291 sale for 217,865.7656 USDC (about $217,865.77). Cardano also placed an ADA-denominated handle (asset14farmmvsem0z2z5gwh8j88l34z70u56mn) among the week’s most valuable trades at $205,082.85 (883,062.656 ADA).
What this means for NFT markets
This week’s data highlights a few clear market dynamics: first, liquidity and value can be concentrated in a small number of large transactions—especially on Bitcoin via BRC-20 inscriptions. Second, rising buyer addresses suggest renewed onboarding or re-engagement, even as transaction counts decline, which could reflect fewer but higher-value trades. Third, wash-trading metrics remain a consideration when interpreting raw sales figures; CryptoSlam’s separate wash-volume tracking helps distinguish potential manipulation from organic trading.
For collectors, builders, and investors, the current mix of on-chain activity points to cross-chain opportunities: Ethereum still dominates by aggregate value, Polygon and Layer-2s show sizable activity (albeit with flagged wash volume in some cases), and Bitcoin inscriptions are back in the spotlight for headline-grabbing sales. As always, buyers should perform due diligence on provenance, liquidity, and marketplace fees before participating in high-value NFT transactions.

Wait, so one 2.97M inscription skewed the whole week? washes, addresses up but txs down... feels fishy, right? some more digging needed
