Jeep has released full details for the 2027 Cherokee family, expanding coverage beyond the previously highlighted Trailhawk to outline powertrain, capability, trims, pricing and ordering information for the sixth-generation model.

Powertrain, economy and capability

All 2027 Cherokee versions use a 1.6-liter inline-four Turbo Hybrid powertrain that produces a combined 210 hp. Jeep and parent company Stellantis quote up to an estimated 37 mpg combined, including 39 mpg city, and state the model can achieve more than 500 miles on a single tank of fuel. Stellantis calls the Cherokee "the most fuel-efficient Jeep model ever, without a plug." Towing capacity is 3,500 pounds.

Jeep also highlights off-road capability: the Cherokee claims best-in-class approach, breakover and departure angles and, when properly equipped, is said to be "the only vehicle in its class to offer a 24-inch water fording rating depth."

Trailhawk hardware and off-road specifications

The Trailhawk returns for 2027 with dedicated off-road hardware. Its drivetrain includes a two-speed power transfer unit with Active Drive II 4x4 and Rock Mode. The Trailhawk’s low-range ratio is 2.92 and it offers a 37.5:1 crawl ratio. Exterior and underbody changes include bespoke front and rear fascias, red tow hooks, skid plates, an off-road suspension and 17-inch alloy wheels shod with all-terrain tires.

Trim levels, pricing and availability

Jeep lists the 2027 Cherokee trims as follows:

  • Cherokee (base)
  • Laredo and Laredo Altitude
  • Limited and Limited Altitude
  • Trailhawk
  • Overland

U.S. pricing starts at $37,125 for the base Cherokee, including a $1,995 destination charge. The Cherokee Trailhawk starts at $44,625, including a $1,995 destination charge. The Limited Altitude and Laredo Altitude are new to the lineup; both include 18-inch gloss black aluminum wheels and gloss black exterior accents and badges. The Limited Altitude adds a gloss painted roof, while the Laredo Altitude features Capri leatherette seat fabric with suede inserts.

Colors, interiors and production

Exterior color choices expand with four new paints: Fathom Blue, Ghost, Copper Shino and Goldilocks, joining Bright White, Diamond Black, Sting Gray, Red Hot, Hydro Blue and '41. Interior color schemes are Global Black or Arctic, and Trailhawk models receive an exclusive Mantis Green interior treatment. Ordering for the 2027 Cherokee lineup, including the Trailhawk, is now open. Production is carried out at the Toluca Assembly Plant in Toluca, Mexico.
