Apple Music has unveiled a new logo, an updated wordmark and a fresh sonic identity composed by Fred Again, bringing a visible shift to the service's presentation. Parts of the redesign had already surfaced in a promotional video and in the app icon found in the iOS 27.2 beta.
Apple has formally assembled those elements and is calling the collection the service's "new identity," a change that extends beyond a single icon to include sound as a primary brand layer.
Three layers: mark, wordmark and sound
The redesign centers on a music-note logo, a revised wordmark for the Apple Music name and a new sound signature created by Fred Again. According to Apple, the project aimed for "sound creates images."

In the introduction video, the music-note sign and the wordmark sit underwater while the water responds to sound and reshapes the marks. The intended effect is a fluid, continually changing visual identity that appears to emerge directly from audio waves.
The redesigned wordmark first appeared in the promotional video, and an updated app icon later showed up in the iOS 27.2 beta. With today’s official reveal, Apple has joined those pieces into the full brand set.
Wallpaper reports the new look will begin rolling out across platforms this week.
