Toyota Motor Europe reported a record nine-month sales total of 936,042 units in the first nine months of 2026, led by a strong shift to electrified vehicles that accounted for 87 percent of deliveries.
Nine-month sales and electrified performance
TME’s combined Toyota and Lexus sales reached 936,042 units from January through September 2026, up 0.6 percent year on year. Electrified vehicles represented 87 percent of that total, or 813,623 deliveries, as Toyota continued to expand its hybrid and battery electric range.

Battery electric vehicle sales more than doubled, rising 136 percent to 104,832 units, which Toyota attributed to strong demand for specific models.

Lexus sold 62,597 units in the period, a decline of four percentage points compared with the same period last year. The Toyota brand delivered 873,445 units, up almost one percentage point, with its electrified sales reaching 753,665 units, a 15 percent increase. The Toyota Professional range, including Hilux and Proace families, accounted for more than 113,000 units.

Model-level results included 41,697 sales of the new RAV4 Hybrid and plug-in hybrid. Toyota said the Aygo X, Yaris, C-HR and Corolla continued to sell strongly across Europe.
"Customers are responding strongly to our electrified line-up, with notable growth across both hybrid and battery electric vehicles. The Aygo X Hybrid, introduced last year, is bringing our hybrid technology to more customers, while the Toyota C-HR+, bZ4X and bZ4X Touring are driving our growing BEV presence in Europe," said Till Conrad, Executive Vice President - Sales, Toyota Motor Europe.

Corolla 60th anniversary editions and production
The Corolla nameplate marks its 60th anniversary in 2026. Toyota states the model has sold almost one million vehicles per year, each year, and reports cumulative global deliveries of 57 million units to date. The current 12th generation is offered as hatchback, sedan and Touring Sports station wagon forms, plus the related Corolla Cross compact crossover, and is produced at 14 manufacturing centres in 11 countries.
In Europe, Corolla production began from complete knock-down kits in 1971, with full-scale manufacturing starting in 1994. Toyota says almost 9.5 million Corollas have been sold from the continent. Current European assembly locations are Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK for the Corolla hatchback and Touring Sports, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey for the sedan.

To mark six decades, Toyota has introduced 60th anniversary limited editions for the European-built Hatchback, Touring Sports and Sedan. The Hatchback and Touring Sports, built in the UK, feature an exclusive Boreal Blue metallic finish presented in a dual-tone treatment with a contrasting Night Sky Black roof and pillars, plus new 17-inch alloy wheels with a contrast matt and machined finish. The Corolla Sedan receives a signature Lunar Sky Blue paint and shares the 17-inch wheels, 60th Anniversary badging, scuff plates and carpet mats with its hatchback and Touring Sports siblings.
