Leapmotor will build its B05 electric hatchback at the Stellantis group s Zaragoza plant in Spain, the company confirmed. Production start date, annual volumes and project cost were not disclosed.

The B05 expands Leapmotor s Zaragoza programme beyond the B10 crossover already assigned to the facility.

In Spain Leapmotor is offering the entry LifePro version with a 56.2 kilowatt-hour battery at an effective price of 19,400 euros after a 3,375-euro Plan Auto+ subsidy and 900 euros from energy-saving certificates.

For maximum range customers must choose the larger battery; Leapmotor claims 482 kilometres WLTP, equal to 299 miles.

The joint venture with Stellantis went live in 2024 with Stellantis holding 51 percent. Under the arrangement Stellantis controls the partner s export, sales and manufacturing activities outside China, the companies say.

By May 2026 the joint venture had grown to more than 850 sales and service locations across Europe, according to company figures.

Leapmotor says local production will provide spare parts logistics, customer support and service facilities closer to market and will help avoid European import tariffs that apply to imports from China.

Stellantis has publicly stated it will use Leapmotor s electric vehicle technologies and cost base to support its own electrification plans, and in May 2026 confirmed it could use Leapmotor International s ecosystem to reduce EV production costs.

The partners say joint purchasing and closer European supply chains should improve negotiating leverage with suppliers and add resilience for faster model introduction.

The rear-drive B05 comes standard with a large central touchscreen, 21 driver assistance functions and seven airbags. The higher Design grade adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof and a 12 speaker audio system; the Life trim has six speakers.

Leapmotor has not disclosed EU content percentages. The B05 will compete with the Volkswagen ID.3 Pro and Stellantis s own Peugeot e-308.
