Hyundai has unveiled the i30 Sedan N Monochrome, a limited-edition take on its performance sedan that tones down the model's usual bright trim in favor of a darker, more restrained appearance. The automaker says it developed the Monochrome after hearing customers who wanted a more mature, understated variant; production is limited to 200 units.

Design and interior
The Monochrome replaces the standard car's striking red accents with body-colored paint and blacked-out trim. Front bumper inlays, side sills, the rear diffuser and brake calipers are finished entirely in black rather than the usual standout colour, and buyers can choose Abyss Black Pearl for an all-black effect or Performance Blue with the same darkened trim treatment. Exterior details include unpainted carbon-fibre mirror caps, a redesigned carbon-fibre rear wing spoiler and new 19-inch forged alloy wheels finished in matte black.

Inside, the Monochrome is the only i30 Sedan N variant to offer a premium Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and matching gear shifter boot. Steering-wheel buttons are blacked out to suit the single-tone cockpit, and the only internal colour accent is Performance Blue contrast stitching.

Performance remains unchanged
The Monochrome edition keeps the i30 Sedan N's 2.0-litre turbo unchanged: 276 horsepower (280 metric horsepower) and 289 pound-feet (392 Newton metres) of torque. That power returns the same sprint times as the standard car: 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 4.8 seconds with the dual-clutch automatic and Launch Control, or 5.4 seconds with the six-speed manual.

Hyundai will offer the Monochrome with both manual and automatic transmissions. The special edition is scheduled to arrive in Australian showrooms starting in November 2026, and Hyundai says it also plans launches in Canada and Korea, with Korea due in late October.

A U.S. introduction has not been confirmed. Official pricing will vary by market and has not been released; Hyundai says the Monochrome will carry a premium over the standard i30 Sedan N, which starts at 53,500 Australian dollars (US $37,316).
Only 200 Monochrome units will be produced.
