The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric C 400 4Matic arrives in Australia priced from AU$105,700, with local sales beginning on 20 October 2026.
This is the first all-electric C-Class from Mercedes-Benz, launched globally after a 2025 teaser at the Munich Motor Show and a formal debut in April 2026 in a single specification, the C 400 4Matic. Mercedes-Benz continues to sell the combustion C-Class; the W206 model received a mid-cycle refresh in August 2026 and remains in the range alongside the new electric variant.

Design and interior
Designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, the C-Class Electric introduces Mercedes-Benz’s new EV visual identity. The front grille integrates 1,050 illuminated dots, a central star and an illuminated surround, and features animated lighting sequences together with three-pointed-star LED daytime running lamps and double-circle LED star taillights. In Australia the car is specified with the AMG Line and Night Package as standard, including 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels; the AMG Line theme extends into the cabin and the local specification also includes the Keyless-go Convenience Package among other items.

The cockpit runs the Mercedes-Benz Operating System, MB.OS, and features fourth-generation MBUX. Mercedes-Benz says the MBUX Virtual Assistant combines technology from ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini to interpret natural speech, and the system includes Mercedes-Benz Navigation with Electric Intelligence. The standard MBUX Superscreen presents a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch central touchscreen and a dedicated 14-inch front-passenger display under a single glass surface. Buyers also receive the AMG Line Sports Seat Package or may opt for a Burmester 3D surround-sound system among other equipment choices.

Powertrain and range
The C 400 4Matic uses a dual-motor electric drivetrain rated at 360 kW and 800 Nm, equal to 483 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, driving all four wheels and delivering a 0–100 kph time of 4.0 seconds. The car carries a usable 94 kWh lithium-ion battery and is rated at up to 753 km WLTP (468 miles). The vehicle’s 800-volt electrical architecture supports DC fast charging at up to 330 kW.

The Australian launch is for the single C 400 4Matic specification offered in other markets, with the manufacturer describing the new C-Class Electric as combining expressive design, electric performance and an immersive digital interior while keeping the comfort and everyday usability long associated with the C-Class.
