Huawei's Watch Ultimate 2 arrives as a refined successor to last year's Ultimate, with targeted upgrades for diving and outdoor use. The Ultimate 2 is certified to EN13319 and ISO 22810:2010 with a 20ATM rating, which Huawei positions as safe for dives down to 150 meters—50 meters deeper than the first-generation model. Beyond depth rating, the watch introduces a headline feature for divers: underwater sonar-based communication. According to Huawei, the watch can send preset text-style messages and emoticons to other compatible devices within roughly 30 meters, while an underwater SOS broadcast can reach up to 60 meters. For professionals and recreational divers alike, that extends basic communication capabilities when standard radio or cellular links are unavailable.
Connectivity, sensors and health tracking
Huawei adds a gap antenna system aimed at better signal stability in demanding environments. The Watch Ultimate 2 runs HarmonyOS 5.1 and supports eSIM for standalone calling, dual-band GPS positioning, and BeiDou satellite messaging for users in China. On the health side, the TruSense system and an X-Tap sensor deliver 11 distinct measurements—including ECG—designed for fast, accurate readings.
