Huawei refreshes the Watch GT lineup
Huawei has unveiled the Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro, two new wearables that focus on longer battery life, improved positioning accuracy and richer sports and health tracking. The GT 6 is available in 41mm and 46mm sizes, while the GT 6 Pro is offered only in 46mm this generation.
Battery and hardware upgrades
The headline improvement is battery life. Huawei says the 46mm GT 6 Pro can reach up to 21 days with light use and around 12 days with typical use. The smaller 41mm GT 6 is rated for up to 14 days light and roughly 7 days of typical use. These gains stem from Huawei's new high-silicon stacked custom-shaped batteries, which use about 10% more silicon and a contoured form factor to raise energy density by roughly 37%.

Display, sensors and positioning
- 46mm models: 1.47 inch OLED, 3,000 nits peak brightness (a substantial jump over the previous generation).
- 41mm model: 1.32 inch OLED.
Huawei also updated antenna design and positioning algorithms with dual-band GNSS support, claiming about 20% better positioning accuracy. The TruSense sensor and algorithm suite has been enhanced for activities such as cycling and trail running, with heart-rate accuracy improvements reported for these use cases.

Sports features and accessibility
The watches support third-party sensors including heart-rate straps, cadence sensors and power meters. New cycling features include:
- Functional Threshold Power (when paired with a power meter)
- A virtual power meter built into the watch for riders without a dedicated power meter
- Real-time gradient, average gradient and gradient range stats
- Trackable group rides with shared live location and status
Huawei has added a wheelchair mode that adapts activity rings, calorie and duration calculations to count wheel rotations instead of steps.

Design, durability and pricing
Materials include sapphire glass, aircraft-grade titanium and nanocrystalline ceramics. The watches carry IP69 and 5ATM ratings and are rated for dives to 40 meters.
Pricing in the UK starts at £230 for the GT 6 (early-bird price £200) and around £330 for the GT 6 Pro with a limited launch discount. Multiple finishes and strap options are available, plus an optional Outdoor Edition bundle that includes open-ear Huawei FreeArc earbuds.
