Spotify has teamed up with OpenAI to let you ask ChatGPT to find songs, assemble playlists, and suggest podcasts — all from within a chat. Mention Spotify in your prompt and, on first use, link your account; after that ChatGPT will surface Spotify results right in the conversation.
How the integration actually works
Begin a chat in ChatGPT and include Spotify in your prompt. The first time you do this you’ll be prompted to connect your Spotify account. Once connected, requests for songs, albums, artists, playlists, or podcast episodes will show Spotify links and context inside the chat so you can open them in the Spotify app.

Limitations to expect
While ChatGPT will present Spotify content inside your conversation, you can’t stream audio or play podcasts directly inside ChatGPT. Tapping a result opens it in the Spotify app or web player. Also, connecting Spotify to ChatGPT is optional and, according to Spotify, the company will not share any audio or video content on its platform with OpenAI for training purposes.

Want better results? Be specific in your prompt. Include details like genre, mood, favorite artists, tempo, or even a theme (for example, workout, study, or road trip). For podcasts, name hosts or notable guests to help ChatGPT narrow choices.
