With just days until launch, Battlefield 6's full PC system requirements have arrived — from bare-minimum rigs to the eye-watering Ultra++ target. Developers say the focus this time is raw performance over flashy visual bells and whistles.
What DICE and the studios prioritized
Battlefield 6 runs on DICE's Frostbite engine, but development under the Battlefield Studios banner (DICE, Ripple Effect, Motive and Criterion) prioritized smooth framerates and scalability across hardware. That means fewer built-in ray-tracing mandates and more emphasis on native performance — with upscaling only recommended at the very top preset.
Tier-by-tier PC requirements (high level)
EA published a range of presets from Minimum up to Ultra++. Below are the key takeaways for each tier so you can match expectations to your build.

Minimum
- Resolution / Target: 1080p @ 30 FPS (Low settings)
- GPUs: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, Intel Arc A380
- CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- RAM: 16GB (Dual-channel, 2133 MHz)
- Storage: 55 GB (HDD at launch)
- OS / DirectX: Windows 10, DirectX 12
Recommended
- Resolution / Target: 1440p @ 60 FPS (High settings)
- GPUs: NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti, AMD RX 6700 XT, Intel Arc B580
- CPU: Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- RAM: 16GB (Dual-channel, 3200 MHz)
- Storage: 90 GB (SSD recommended)
- OS: Windows 11 64-bit, DirectX 12
Ultra
- Resolution / Target: up to 4K @ 60–144 FPS depending on settings
- GPUs: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX (for higher 4K presets)
- CPU: Intel Core i9-12900K or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D for high-performance modes
- RAM: 32GB (Dual-channel, 4800 MHz)
- Storage & OS: 90 GB SSD, Windows 11 64-bit
Ultra++ (the competitive, 4K high-FPS target)
- Resolution / Target: 4K @ 144 FPS (High settings) up to 4K @ 240+ FPS (Ultra settings)
- GPUs: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 listed for top-end presets (no AMD equivalent listed for Ultra++)
- Upscaling: NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution recommended for 4K @ 144 FPS; DLSS + Multi-Frame Generation required to reach 4K @ 240+ FPS on the RTX 5080
- CPU: Modern high-end CPUs are listed (including Intel Core "Ultra" and AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D variants for Ultra++)
- RAM & Storage: 32GB (Dual-channel, 4800 MHz) and 90 GB SSD
System-level requirements and compatibility notes
Across all recommended tiers, Battlefield 6 expects modern platform features: TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, HVCI and VBS capability. DirectX 12 is required, and Windows 11 64-bit becomes standard for recommended and higher presets. Storage requirements jump from a 55 GB HDD baseline at launch to around 90 GB when targeting higher-quality installs on SSD.
Finally, the game will be available on GeForce NOW. While cloud play offers accessibility for users without high-end hardware, the developers note that playing a competitive shooter through streaming servers — even ones powered by RTX 5080-class GPUs — is not the same as local low-latency performance.
If you're planning to play Battlefield 6 competitively, check your GPU, CPU and RAM against these tiers and consider DLSS and Multi-Frame Generation options if you're aiming for 4K at very high frame rates.
