With the Realme GT 8 launch just a day away in China, Realme has confirmed core specs and the color lineup for the base model. The GT 8 looks aimed at gamers and mobile photographers who want flagship-level hardware without the Pro price tag.
Power and performance tuned for gaming
Under the hood the GT 8 runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with Realme's R1 gaming chip for improved sustained performance and thermal management. The phone ships with a flat 2K display that refreshes at 144Hz, delivering buttery-smooth animations and competitive-frame-rate gaming. Security is handled by an in-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Ricoh GR cameras — periscope zoom included
Realme has equipped the GT 8 with a Ricoh GR-branded triple rear camera system. The highlight is a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom for cleaner distant shots. Note that the GT 8 drops the interchangeable camera housing seen on the Pro model, but still promises versatile imaging for everyday and long-range use.

Big battery, long software support
- Battery: 7,000mAh cell for extended runtimes; official charging speeds have not been announced yet.
- Software: Ships with Android 16-based realme UI 7 out of the box.
- Updates: Realme guarantees five years of OS updates and security patches, a strong commitment for longevity.
Design, durability and color options
The GT 8 uses a glass-and-metal build and carries robust ingress protection ratings — IP69, IP68 and IP66 — for serious dust and water resistance. Color options confirmed so far are White, Navy Blue and Green.
All told, the Realme GT 8 blends flagship-grade silicon, a high-refresh 2K display, a capable Ricoh GR camera setup and a massive 7,000mAh battery. Pricing and full charging details will be revealed at the official China launch tomorrow.
