Google is rolling Live Updates from Android 16 into Google Wallet, so travelers can see flight, train and event details right on their lockscreen without opening any app. This small change makes trip tracking faster and less distracting.
Live travel info at a glance
Live Updates were introduced as a dynamic notification system for ongoing activities like navigation, rides and deliveries. Now, Google Wallet taps that same system to surface key travel data—boarding times, gate changes, departure platforms and event entry details—directly on the lockscreen. Imagine walking through an airport and getting an instant alert about a gate change without fumbling for your phone.
- Flights: boarding times, gate numbers, delays and cancellations.
- Trains: platform info, departure times and service disruptions.
- Events: entry, schedule updates and venue changes.
Samsung Now Bar gets compatible too
Samsung's Now Bar will also show travel info sourced from Google Wallet. Devices running One UI 8 with Google Play services version 25.41 or later can display those same Live Updates in the Now Bar, making the experience seamless for Samsung users who prefer glanceable content.

Why this matters for travelers
This is about reducing friction. Quick, timely updates on the lockscreen save time and stress during trips. You don’t need to unlock the phone or hunt through apps to find crucial details, which is especially useful when you’re rushing through terminals or commuting.
What to expect and how to get it
The feature expands Android 16’s Live Updates capabilities and is rolling out through Google Wallet and Google Play services. If you use a Samsung device, check that you’re on One UI 8 and Play services 25.41 or newer. Also review your lockscreen and notification settings to control what appears when your device is locked.
Privacy remains in your hands: these notifications mirror the travel data already stored in Google Wallet and rely on the same app permissions and notification controls you manage today.
