New renders of Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone have surfaced, and they come with a bold claim: the dreaded fold crease may be almost invisible. These images and details — shared by Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech — sketch a book-style iPhone Fold that aims to change how we think about foldable displays.
A book-style foldable with surprising proportions
According to the leak, Apple opted for a book-style design rather than a clamshell. On the outside there's a 5.5-inch cover display for quick tasks, while the main inner screen opens up to a 7.8-inch panel for full apps and multitasking. The design notes also list a folded thickness around 9mm and an unfolded profile of just 4.5mm — numbers that, if accurate, would make the Fold feel relatively slim compared to some rivals.

How Apple might hide the crease
What stands out in these renders is the claim that the display crease will be barely noticeable. Prosser says Apple could be combining several hardware tricks: a pressure-dispersing metal plate, liquid metal inside the hinge, and an in-cell touch panel. These elements, paired with earlier reports that Apple is developing ultra-thin flexible glass (UFG), could reduce visible deformation and improve touch feel.

Specs that sound like top-tier iPhone hardware
Beyond the hinge and display tech, the iPhone Fold is rumored to house flagship-level internals. Highlights from the leaks include:
- Apple A20 Pro chipset — expected to be the company’s next high-performance silicon.
- Second-generation C2 modem for cellular connectivity.
- A high-density battery design to extend runtimes despite the big inner display.
- Camera layout: a dual-camera rear module in an iPhone Air–style bump, plus one camera for the cover screen and another for the internal display (no under-display camera reported).
- Biometrics: leaks suggest Apple will skip Face ID on this model and instead place a fingerprint sensor in the power button — which reportedly moves to the top edge when folded.

Colors, price and what remains uncertain
Prosser's report says the iPhone Fold will launch in only two finishes: black and white. As for cost, the rumored price band sits between $2,000 and $2,500 — positioning the Fold as a premium, niche device at launch.

As with all leaks, take details with a grain of salt. The renderings and hardware claims paint an intriguing picture: if Apple really combines UFG, a novel hinge and pressure-dispersing layers, a nearly crease-free foldable iPhone could be its biggest hardware move in years.
