Samsung's next mid-range contender, the Galaxy A57, has just had its design exposed — courtesy of new images in China’s TENAA database. After an initial spec-only listing earlier this month, the updated entry now gives us the first clear look at what the phone will actually feel like in the hand.
A familiar silhouette with a subtle refresh
At first glance the A57 looks very much like its predecessor: flat front and back panels, clean lines and Samsung’s signature raised “key island” on the right edge for power and volume controls. The overall language remains conservative, but there are a few visual tweaks that freshen the design without reinventing it.
The most obvious change is the reworked camera module. Samsung has moved to a two-tier arrangement: a thicker, body-colored outer frame now surrounds an inner black pill that houses the lenses. It’s a small move that creates a clearer visual contrast and a slightly more premium feel.
The phone also appears slimmer on paper — TENAA lists a 6.9mm thickness, down from the previous model’s 7.4mm — which should help the A57 feel lighter and less bulky in daily use.

Specs at a glance: display, chipset and cameras
Beyond looks, the updated TENAA entry reconfirms most of the A57’s hardware. Here’s the quick breakdown:
- Display: 6.6-inch AMOLED, FHD+ resolution
- Processor: octa-core CPU up to 2.9GHz (Geekbench hints at an Exynos 1680)
- Rear cameras: 50MP main + 12MP ultra-wide + 5MP macro
- Front camera: 12MP selfie shooter
- Battery: 5,000mAh with 45W fast charging support
- Storage: at least two trims — 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB
- Software: Android 16 with One UI 8 on top
Those specs suggest Samsung is keeping the A57 squarely in the capable upper-midrange segment: a bright AMOLED panel, a large battery with fast charging, and a sensible camera setup for everyday photography.
Why this matters — and what to watch for
Will the slimmer body and new camera styling be enough to sway buyers? For many, the A-series is about balancing price with practical performance. The likely inclusion of the Exynos 1680 (if Geekbench’s scores hold true) and the 5,000mAh battery could give the A57 a strong value proposition against rival mid-rangers.
Also worth noting: Samsung plans to unveil the A57 in late February, positioning it ahead of the Galaxy S26 family. That timing could help the A57 capture interest from shoppers who want a modern Samsung phone without paying flagship prices.
Expect official images and final regional specs at the launch. Until then, the TENAA listing gives a solid preview: a conservative but smartly refined design, competitive hardware, and software that ships on top of Android 16.
