HP OmniDesk mini PC launches with Core 5 320, 16 GB RAM

HP has launched the OmniDesk mini PC, priced from $799, offering up to an Intel Core 5 320 processor and 16 GB of LPDDR5X system memory.

The OmniDesk is an ultra-compact, entry-level mini PC in a 5.12 x 5.12 x 1.89 inch chassis and is positioned against Apple’s Mac mini. Unlike the Core Ultra Series 3-powered mini PC HP showed at CES, OmniDesk uses Intel’s Wildcat Lake lineup.

The system will ship in up to four configurations, beginning with the Intel Core 3 304. The Core 3 304 is a 1+4 core CPU with one Performance Cougar Cove core and four Darkmont LP-E cores. The Core 5 320 is a 2+4 core CPU from the same Core Series 3 family. HP says these CPUs are ultra-power-efficient while providing mainstream computing performance.

The base model includes 8 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory; a 16 GB LPDDR5X option is available on higher configurations. Storage uses dual M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs and supports up to 16 TB of total capacity. The base drive is a 256 GB Gen 3 NVMe SSD, and users can choose larger drives up to 2 TB at additional cost.

Connectivity out of the box includes WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. An optional WiFi 6E plus Bluetooth 5.3 configuration is offered.

The OmniDesk starts at $799. Wccftech noted the base price is not inexpensive for the entry configuration and said rising component costs have pushed prices for Wildcat Lake systems higher.
