Dacia launches limited Duster Spirit of Sand for Romania
Dacia is bringing a dramatic, Dakar-inspired special edition of its best-selling crossover to the market in spring 2026, but most buyers outside Romania will be left wanting. The Duster Spirit of Sand is strictly limited to 500 units and, true to its name, channels the marque's recent rally success while staying rooted in production-car practicality.
From Dakar concept to road-ready rarity
Partly influenced by the Soul of Dakar concept revealed in late 2024, the Spirit of Sand celebrates Dacia's involvement in the Dakar Rally — a program that culminated with an overall win at the 48th edition. That success, and a shorter-than-planned motorsport campaign, helped shape this road-focused tribute. Dacia had committed to a three-year Dakar program but clinched victory in two, and changes inside the Renault Group have contributed to a shift in racing commitments across the group.
What makes the Spirit of Sand different?
