Glare is a small nuisance until it steals your view of a sunset or ruins a midnight movie. Samsung's new Galaxy S26 lineup solves that problem—sometimes. The company rolled out three fresh flagships: the Galaxy S26, S26+, and the overhauled S26 Ultra. But when it comes to display treatment, not all three are equal.
Short answer: only the S26 Ultra ships with Corning Gorilla Armor 2. That glass arrived on Samsung's flagship two generations ago and brought a useful twist to screen protection: the same hardwearing chemistry you expect from Corning, plus an anti-reflective surface that tames glare and reflections under bright lights.
The Galaxy S26 and S26+ instead use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Don’t read that as a downgrade in toughness—Victus 2 is rugged and handles drops impressively—but it lacks the Armor 2 anti-reflective coating that makes content easier to view in direct light. So you get similar scratch and drop resistance, but not the same clarity when the sun is angled just so.

What does that mean in practice? If you watch videos outdoors or read under strong indoor lighting, the S26 and S26+ remain highly legible thanks to very bright displays and solid contrast. Reflections, however, will be more noticeable than on the Ultra. If minimizing glare is a priority for you—photographers, commuters, or anyone who frequently uses their phone in bright environments—the Ultra’s Armor 2 is the noticeable difference.
Only the Galaxy S26 Ultra includes Gorilla Armor 2; the regular S26 and S26+ rely on Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is tough but not anti-reflective.
Deciding between models comes down to how you use the display. If drop resistance and everyday durability are top concerns, any S26 model covers that well. If outdoor readability and reduced reflections are must-haves, the Ultra is the one that offers that extra layer of refinement—literally.
Pick a phone for its camera, battery life, or design if those matter more. But if reflections ruin your screen time, the choice is painfully simple.
