Urban Automotive turns the Defender 110 into an ultra-luxe carbon pickup

Urban Automotive has filled a gap in Land Rover's modern lineup by transforming the Defender 110 into a dramatic, two-door luxury pickup. Unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to mark the tuner’s tenth anniversary at the event, the wide-track 'Aventor' project swaps the Defender's rear doors and portions of the roof for a bespoke pickup bed wrapped in carbon fiber.

Engineering to preserve Defender DNA

Rather than a simple body modification, this is a heavily engineered conversion. Cutting away the roof and rear doors required a custom structural frame and an integrated roll-cage to maintain chassis stiffness, ride quality, and handling characteristics. Urban says more than 36 bespoke components were fabricated for the build, so the pickup keeps the Defender's off-road capability and driving manners while presenting a far more aggressive stance.

Design and customization

Visually the Aventor conversion is unapologetically bold. The package includes wide fenders, a sharp front splitter, a vented custom hood, and 23-inch wide alloy wheels — the prototype at Goodwood wore gold-finished Vossen rims against a deep blue body, a combination meant to underline the conversion’s luxury positioning. Buyers can choose carbon-trim finishes in multiple textures and coatings, from satin to high-gloss forged carbon.

Urban Automotive also revealed a new personalization package for the Defender Octa flagship. That kit adds a raised hood with carbon air vents, aggressive aerodynamic elements for the front bumper and rear wing, a bespoke spare-tire cover, and forged-carbon exhaust trims — a visual and performance-focused upgrade path for owners who want a more exclusive Defender.

Price and market positioning

Urban has not published an official price list, but the company warns that the Aventor conversion will be costly. Given the extensive engineering work and the heavy use of carbon fiber, estimates put the conversion well north of $200,000. Urban is now accepting initial enquiries for the Aventor pickup and taking orders for the Octa upgrade package.
