Why vivo's X500 Lineup Could Shake Up Camera Phones

Rumors have a way of becoming expectations when a credible tipster talks. Today, details leaked by Digital Chat Station sketch a clear picture of vivo's next move: three X500 models that look set to push camera hardware and battery life in directions most flagships haven't explored.

On design, vivo appears to be splitting personalities. The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are said to wear large, centered circular camera islands—bold, symmetrical, and impossible to ignore. The base X500 takes a different tack, with a smaller circular bump tucked into the top-left corner of the rear panel. Subtle, but telling. The Pro duo will also adopt noticeably rounder screen corners than last year's models, a small visual cue that can change the whole in-hand feel.

Screen sizes seem tailored to different users. Expect a 6.37-inch display on the X500 Pro, a 6.85-inch panel for the Pro Max, and a 6.59-inch screen on the vanilla X500. In other words: compact power, a big multimedia option, and a middle ground for everyday buyers.

Under the hood, silicon choices are the headline. The vanilla X500 reportedly runs on a 3nm system-on-chip—candidates include MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 or a tweaked 9600s variant—while both Pro models could step up to a 2nm chip, likely the Dimensity 9600. Faster, cooler, and more efficient. That combination would pair well with high-refresh screens and heavier camera processing.

Camera specs make the leak feel like a dossier for mobile photography enthusiasts. The X500 Pro is said to host a 50MP main module using a 1/1.28" LOFIC sensor, plus a 50MP ultrawide and a 64MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom on a 1/2" sensor. The Pro Max apparently keeps the same 50MP main but escalates the telephoto to a monstrous 200MP periscope unit—an obvious move to compete on long-range detail and cropping flexibility.

All three models are expected to include batteries of at least 7,000 mAh, which, if true, would redefine endurance expectations for premium phones rather than treat battery life as a secondary feature.

There are still loose ends. Exact charging speeds, display panel types, and final sensor calibrations haven't leaked yet. And while model names and core hardware seem believable, vivo's final tuning—software image processing, thermal management, and UI polish—will be decisive.

If these leaks hold up, vivo's X500 series could be an attractive proposition for users who prioritize camera versatility and multi-day battery life without surrendering modern processing power.
