No fireworks this time. The leak from China’s 3C certification reads like a quiet note rather than a manifesto: Samsung’s next Galaxy S27 phones stick with familiar charging figures.
The base Galaxy S27, listed as model SM-S9520, is shown supporting 25W wired charging. The larger Galaxy S27+, model SM-S9560, appears with 45W wired charging. Those numbers mirror what Samsung shipped on the S26 family and, in the case of the plus model, extend a pattern that traces back to the S22+ era.
Both entries also confirm that buyers will find only a USB Type-C cable in the box — no power brick, no surprises. It’s a packaging choice Samsung has standardized across recent flagships, and one that keeps the headline price down while nudging buyers toward third-party or existing chargers.

Is this cautious or conservative? Depends on your perspective. On one hand, 25W and 45W remain practical for day-to-day use and tend to be kinder to battery health and thermal performance. On the other, competitors keep pushing the envelope with 80W, 100W and even faster charging technologies, turning the charging race into a sprint that Samsung has largely avoided.
There’s a method to the restraint. Faster charging can generate more heat and accelerate battery wear unless manufacturers redesign cells and cooling systems — changes that increase cost and complexity. Samsung may be choosing steady, proven engineering over headline-grabbing specs, or it may be saving higher-speed innovations for a more premium tier.
Both S27 models look set to follow Samsung’s recent roadmap: incremental updates rather than a dramatic leap in wired charging.
For buyers, the decision is simple: if you prize quick top-ups, the S27+ with 45W is the better pick; if you value balance and longevity, the base S27’s 25W will feel adequate. Either way, this leak says more about market strategy than it does about hardware surprises — and it leaves room for the next round of debate among phone buyers and reviewers.
