Meta's Muse AI App Reaches No. 1 on US App Store in 10 Days

Meta's new Muse AI app reached the top of the US App Store free charts ten days after its US launch, overtaking ChatGPT, the company announced on X.

Alexander Wang, director of Meta's Superintelligence Lab, posted on X today that Muse had climbed to the number one position on the App Store's free apps chart. ChatGPT sits at number two. Meta launched Muse in the United States last week.

Capabilities and integrations

Meta describes Muse as a "personal AI agent" designed not only to answer questions but also to connect to other services and perform tasks on a user’s behalf with permission. At launch Muse was available to US users on iOS, Android and the web, and Meta said the agent can also be accessed via WhatsApp.

Meta says Muse can perform actions such as sending email, booking travel, setting schedules, completing forms and making purchases. The company added that the agent will request user confirmation when tasks require more sensitive or consequential actions.

Model and access tiers

Muse runs on Meta's Muse Spark model, which the company describes as the base model for the agent. Meta launched Muse with a free tier and two paid subscription levels intended for heavier use.
