Prolific industry insider Digital Chat Station says the Vivo X500 Ultra is progressing through normal refinement and is expected to launch in March or April next year. Vivo itself has signaled the same window: Vice President and Product Vice President Huang Tao previously said the X500 Ultra is following a normal development cycle and should arrive in March or April, with imaging improvements over the Pro Max model and a focus on professional creators.
The company released the Vivo X500 in China without an Ultra variant, leaving the X500 Pro Max as the current top model. The Pro Max runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset and packs an 8,000mAh battery with 90W charging.

Leaked hardware and outstanding questions
Reports suggest the X500 Ultra may take a different hardware route. Vivo is reportedly testing a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip instead of MediaTek silicon. The device is also said to use a 6.85-inch BOE panel with 2K+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and LTPO technology. Leaks describe the panel as flat with uniform bezels on all four sides and large rounded corners, and say biometric unlocking will rely on a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
Camera changes look set to be the most significant. The front camera is tipped to be a standard 50MP shooter, while the rear could carry three sensors of 50MP, 50MP and 200MP. The role of each sensor has not been clarified, and earlier leaks mentioned various 200MP telephoto sensors, producing conflicting accounts of the final arrangement.
These chipset, display and camera specifications remain leaks at this stage. Vivo has yet to confirm any of these hardware details.
