Arc X1 handheld launches with Snapdragon G2 Gen 2, 7-inch

India based gaming company Arc has introduced its first handheld, the Arc X1, a compact Android device built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 chipset and a custom OS called OwlOS. The announcement places the X1 squarely in the growing field of dedicated handheld gaming devices, with Arc emphasizing a balance of mobile-class performance and handheld ergonomics.

The Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X memory and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and the unit includes a microSD card slot for additional capacity. Arc has fitted the X1 with an active cooling system that uses a fan to manage thermals during extended play.

Display, controls and haptics

The Arc X1 uses a 7 inch LCD panel at Full HD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Audio and input are conservative and practical: front facing stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual microphones sit alongside a full control set.

Controls include zero drift replaceable analog sticks, microswitch ABXY buttons, a D pad and two programmable rear buttons. For tactile feedback the handheld uses dual Linear Resonant Actuators. The hardware package aims for serviceable, long term play rather than experimental layouts.

Battery capacity is 9,300mAh and the X1 supports 27W wired fast charging. According to Arc, the handheld can deliver up to eight hours of use in silent mode, a figure the company qualifies as a runtime estimate rather than a guaranteed outcome under all conditions.

Connectivity options are modern: Wi Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, plus a USB Type C 3.1 port for data and charging. Arc lists the device weight at around 500 grams.

OwlOS is Arc’s custom operating system built on AOSP. The company says it lets users play native Android games, run emulators and use cloud streaming services. OwlOS also exposes per game settings for performance and controls, resolution scaling, fan curves and other tuning options.

Pricing for early waitlisters starts at INR 29,500, with the Arc X1 available to regular customers for INR 33,500 beginning October 2.
