Unreal Honda Civic Hatch CGI Imagines Retro-Futurist Design

Italian designer Gaetano De Cicco published unofficial CGI images that reimagine a next-generation Honda Civic hatchback with 1990s cues and a noticeably low, wide stance.

Car.design.trends highlighted the project; De Cicco posts under the social handle 0395_design and describes the work as a personal study aimed at reviving 1990s Civic hatchback styling with a modern, minimal aesthetic.

The design references the round shapes of the fifth-generation Civic hatchback while stretching the proportions: the concept is longer, wider and lower, with large metal surfaces and relatively small glazing areas.

Lighting is narrow and precise, with slim LED headlamps and matching rear light signatures. A third brake light, mounted in the rear bumper in an F1-style layout, uses LED dots to form an H motif.

Sporty details include a pronounced roof spoiler and large black alloy wheels; otherwise the bodywork is streamlined and uncluttered.

The images do not state a powertrain. The enclosed front suggests electric treatment, but visible VTEC badging at the front and sides and slim exhaust ports in the rear diffuser point to internal combustion in the renderings. The powertrain remains unspecified.

Separately, Honda recently became the first automaker to earn a five-star FIA Road Safety Index rating. The brand’s models such as the Accord Hybrid, HR-V, Civic, Pilot and Ridgeline are frequently cited for long-term reliability and the potential to reach 250,000 miles.
