Late Model Racecraft in Houston converted a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to a twin-turbo package that produces roughly 1,000 horsepower at the crank for owner Chris V.
The stock LT6 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 is naturally aspirated and rated at 670 horsepower (680 PS) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque. In factory form the Z06 posts 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds, a quarter mile in 10.5 seconds with a 131 mph (210 kph) trap, and a top speed of 195 mph (314 kph).

Before the turbo install the car baselined at about 600 rear-wheel horsepower on E85 on Late Model Racecraft's dyno.
LMR fitted a Mirror Image Precision ball-bearing twin-turbo system and supporting hardware. On 93-octane pump gas the build adds 213 rear-wheel horsepower, bringing output to just over 810 wheel horsepower, which LMR says equates to roughly 1,000 horsepower at the crank.

The Stage 1 Twin Turbo Package includes full ECM and TCM tuning calibrated for 93 octane to preserve factory-like drivability and reliability. A coolant-fed heat exchanger sits on both sides of the system to control temperatures.

A short exhaust exits the turbos and accentuates the LT6 V8 with loud pops on full load and during downshifts.
Late Model Racecraft technical director Steven Fereday road-tested the car. In Sport mode with traction control off the Corvette spins the rear tires; LMR advises keeping traction control engaged for street launches. LMR also suggested sticky Toyo rear tyres for improved grip.

In Touring mode the car reverts to near-stock behavior. Owner Chris V. collected the car in Houston and left visibly satisfied.
