The BYD ATTO 8 arrives with a 115 kWh second‑generation Blade Battery that BYD says can refill from 10 to 97 percent in nine minutes using its FLASH Charging system.

Unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show (October 12-18) at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the ATTO 8 is BYD's new flagship seven-seat crossover for Europe and is scheduled to reach the Old Continent in the first quarter of 2027. The company presented the model as the top of its SUV range, above the ATTO 2, ATTO 3, SEALION 5 and SEAL U, and framed the launch alongside its broader all-electric and Super Hybrid lineups.

The ATTO 8 is offered in two all-electric specifications. The Design RWD edition uses a single motor rated at 462 ps (456 hp / 340 kW) with 365 Nm (269 lb-ft) of torque, a claimed 0 to 62 mph in eight seconds and a targeted range of 405 miles. The Excellence AWD version uses a dual-motor setup, BYD lists peak output at 775 ps (764 hp) and a 0 to 100 kph time of 4.6 seconds, with a targeted range of 374 miles.

Measuring 5,040 mm (198.42 inches) long, 1,996 mm (78.58 inches) wide and 1,760 mm (69.29 inches) tall, the ATTO 8 conforms to full-size SUV dimensions by European standards and can accommodate seven occupants. BYD describes the exterior as the latest iteration of its design language, with ultra-slim integrated daytime running lights, matrix-LED headlights, 'infinity knot' taillights, a dark C-pillar and a chrome-embellished D-pillar.

Charging and battery

BYD says the ATTO 8 is the first model it will sell in Europe equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery, a 115 kWh unit that the company claims supports FLASH Charging. According to BYD's figures the battery can go from 10 to 70 percent in five minutes, reach 97 percent in nine minutes and, in very cold conditions down to -30 degrees Celsius, charge from 20 to 97 percent in 12 minutes. These charging speeds apply to BYD's proprietary FLASH Charging stations; BYD has announced a target to install 3,000 such stations across Europe by the end of 2027.

BYD displayed the ATTO 8 alongside other launches at the show, including its Super Hybrid DM-i models — ATTO 2 DM-i, SEALION 5 DM-i and SEAL U DM-i — and the SHARK DMO Super Hybrid pickup, which BYD says can operate as an EV for up to 56 miles. Pricing and exact equipment details for the European ATTO 8 launch will be confirmed closer to its first-quarter 2027 market introduction.
