Peugeot has revived the RCZ name as a concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, presenting the RCZ Vision Concept as an electric 2+2 show car equipped with a solid-state battery and an unusual 1,000 volt electrical architecture, a detail the company highlighted in its press release. Peugeot attributes the car with up to 600 km (373 miles) of range, an energy consumption figure of 11.5 kWh/100 km, and peak output of 500 metric horsepower (493 bhp/368 kW). The maker says the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 10 minutes.

Peugeot and Stellantis have positioned the RCZ Vision on the STLA One platform and describe the concept as proof of the architecture's capability for high-voltage electric drivetrains and next-generation packaging.

Platform, powertrain claims and context

The RCZ Vision Concept is declared to be based on the STLA One platform. Stellantis revealed the STLA family earlier this year, and the transverse-engine variant of STLA One is planned for several forthcoming models, including the Chrysler Airflow, the Dodge GLH, a future North American Jeep Compass, and the seventh-generation Cherokee. Stellantis previously stated that its architectures would support 800 volt systems for faster charging, but Peugeot's release specifies a 1,000 volt electrical architecture for the RCZ Vision Concept. Peugeot also says the platform will underpin the future Peugeot e-208, scheduled to appear in 2027.

The figures published by Peugeot are manufacturer claims. Alongside the consumption and range numbers, Peugeot lists a rapid charge time and the 500 metric horsepower peak output, but the company has not provided further technical detail such as motor layout, battery capacity in kilowatt hours, or validated test-cycle data beyond the stated numbers.

Design and interior

Visually the RCZ Vision Concept is bold and deliberately retro-modern. Exterior highlights include a double-bubble roof, a sporty silhouette, an aggressive front fascia with a three-claw lighting signature, pairs of vents in the bumper, a closed grille bearing Peugeot's logo, and a pronounced apron with lateral blades. The body shows muscular front wheel arches and broader rear three-quarter panels, pronounced door lower sections and side skirts, a raked rear screen, and a three-claw rear lighting signature around an illuminated Peugeot wordmark. The concept rides on forged aluminum wheels, 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear, with a radiating-spoke design.

Peugeot calls the new aesthetic language Feline Future, which the company says combines "freedom, courage, elegance, inner force, and instinct." That name and wording are Peugeot's description of the styling direction rather than a technical specification.

Peugeot has released images of the interior. The concept shows a so-called Hypersquare steering wheel and a reworked i-Cockpit layout. Peugeot describes transparent Micro LED displays that can be configured by the driver, and it notes the central screen can be switched off completely. The car also shows physical buttons on the center console and on the steering wheel. Peugeot says the Hypersquare steering wheel will appear in production form on the new e-208 next year.

Peugeot has not confirmed whether the RCZ Vision Concept is a direct preview of a production model. The company provided the technical claims and styling intent in its press materials but stopped short of announcing a production RCZ or a launch timetable for a coupe derivative. Other marques have discussed returning compact coupes as electric models, a context noted in Peugeot's presentation, but the RCZ Vision remains an official concept for now.
